Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact submission may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It is not disclosed outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may automatically receive basic technical and usage details:
- The device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and general device category
- Visited pages and approximate time spent on them
- Referring website, when one is supplied
- Date and time attached to a page request
Cookies and Analytics

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Polk County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to reach the Polk County Sheriff, local courts, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and GCIC, and the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. Georgia criminal-history dissemination is governed in part by O.C.G.A. §§ 35-3-34 and 35-3-35. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and disclosure practices govern information entered there. We cannot control those practices, so review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Polk County Sheriff, court portals, Georgia agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this resource, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- A search provider selected to process a submitted query
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and site performance
- Advertising networks placing or measuring advertisements
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal demand

Reasonable standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so a breach or unauthorized access cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A verified minor's information will be removed when required.

Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. Georgia's Fair Business Practices Act, O.C.G.A. § 10-1-390 et seq., addresses unfair or deceptive consumer practices. The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 50-18-70 through 50-18-77, governs government records rather than data held by this private resource. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
